Creative Cooking in a state of the art commercial kitchen

Inclusive Disability Assist’s Creative Cooking group workshops for adults are proudly facilitated in a fully accredited commercial kitchen, providing a professional yet welcoming space for participants to learn, practice and thrive. This fabulous venue allows people to gain hands-on experience using real equipment in a safe, supportive environment that builds confidence and practical life skills. Groups are intentionally kept small so every participant has the opportunity to actively engage, ask questions and learn at their own pace with individualised support. The kitchen also offers a confidential and respectful space where participants feel comfortable being themselves, sharing experiences and forming genuine social connections. Through cooking side by side, people build friendships, teamwork skills and a strong sense of belonging in an inclusive, encouraging setting.

Meal prep for the entire week

Participants in the Creative Cooking program don’t just learn how to cook new and nutritious meals—they also prepare larger quantities designed to last throughout the week. This practical approach helps participants build valuable meal-prepping skills, save time and energy, and reduce the stress of daily cooking. By learning how to plan, portion and store meals safely, participants gain a better understanding of cooking on a budget, minimizing food waste and making smarter shopping choices. Many enjoy the added benefit of being able to share their home-cooked meals with family members or support networks, fostering pride, independence and connection beyond the workshop. The focus is on real-life skills that support healthier routines, confidence in the kitchen and greater independence at home.

Build social connections in a safe and private environment

.The Creative Cooking group-based activity is designed to strengthen social connections by bringing participants together in small to medium-sized groups where everyone feels seen, included and valued. Working side by side in the kitchen creates natural opportunities for conversation, teamwork and shared problem-solving, helping participants connect over common interests and experiences. The group setting allows participants to meet like-minded people in a relaxed, supportive environment, making it easier to form friendships and build confidence in social situations. Through shared tasks and shared meals, participants develop a sense of belonging and community that extends beyond the kitchen and into everyday life.
